Baltimore Interfaith Hospitality Network - Community Meeting June 17, 2014 at 6:30 PM
The Mayor’s Office of Human Services – Homeless Services Program is holding an informational meeting for all Baltimore area congregations that are interested in learning about the Baltimore Interfaith Hospitality Network. The goal of an Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is to provide families experiencing homelessness with basic human needs- shelter, safety, and sustenance-with a spirit of warmth and hospitality. In the IHN program, houses of worship provide space for overnight accommodations; congregations supply volunteers; and social service agencies assess and refer families to the program. An Interfaith Hospitality Network gives congregations the opportunity for outreach ministry, focusing on the needs of people experiencing homelessness in the community.
The meeting will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church 5701 Loch Raven Blvd. Baltimore, MD 21239. To RSVP for this meeting please contact Jennifer Mayo at 410-545-1979 or Jennifer.Mayo@baltimorecity.gov
